Expanded support for Autodesk design solutions
Assemble has released support for the new 2020 versions of AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks. This provides teams with enhanced support for an increasing number of file formats and access to multidisciplinary design data. Assemble users can condition, query, and connect BIM data to key workflows, including design reviews, takeoffs, estimating, change management, value engineering, and schedule management. Publishing the models to the cloud allows project teams to collaborate and ensure that everyone is working on the latest files, avoiding project risks.
Enhanced management of properties
Assemble customers benefit immensely by enhancing the information contained in BIM models to facilitate and standardize construction workflows such as cost codes, work breakdown, project sequencing, value engineering, schedule data, and more. Now, Assemble has enhanced its tools to enable users to group, manage, and import properties from both past projects and external sources to increase time savings when starting new projects.
Quantity takeoffs play an important role during the estimation phase of preconstruction. Takeoffs help estimators determine actual costs to ensure a project remains within scope. Still, they often struggle to easily and quickly identify quantities and costs based on files received from general contractors. If estimators are lucky enough to receive updated 2D drawings, they still have to manage multiple tools to extract these costs.
Now, users can easily perform 2D takeoffs in Bid Board Pro as they manage their bids, eliminating costly errors and significantly reducing their takeoff time to secure more work on time. Rolling out in the next couple of weeks, the 2D takeoff tool helps subcontractors organize takeoff items, draw and measure in plans, and view all information stored in the cloud. The new feature removes the need to enter each component and quantity into a list manually, and eliminates having to print, scan, and upload new files.
Automated backlog sync in TradeTapp
When it comes to evaluating construction risk, looking at subcontractor backlog is crucial. Without a thorough understanding of backlog data, general contractors are left guessing if a subcontractor is stretched too thin, might struggle to meet schedule commitments, or is at a higher risk to default. Making the process of tracking internal backlog easy requires some configuration of internal systems such as enterprise resource planning (ERP) and accounting systems.
Without these systems seamlessly transferring data to one another, risk teams lose time referencing several systems to have the information they need to complete a qualification review appropriately. TradeTapp now enables general contractors to automate backlog syncing with their ERP and accounting systems, speeding up the subcontractor qualification process, and improving risk analysis. Once internal backlog data is pushed to TradeTapp, automatic alerts are triggered to ensure the subcontractor is still within the internal total limits set. This replaces the need for general contractors to email files or manually enter data.
