THOMPSON BUILDERS CORPORATION is requesting bids from ALL and LBE subcontractors, suppliers & truckers for the following project.
Scope: Site grading and formation, shoreline reconstruction including a beach and revetment, inwater sediment cap, hardscape, landscaping, custom site furnishings, site lighting, irrigation, restoration of historic gantry cranes (non-functional), use of shipyard relics as interpretive elements, building renovation and retrofit including public restrooms, building demolition, site utilities, and paving.

Division 02-Existing Conditions (existing conditions-hazmat; hazmat abatement work plan; demolition (sitework); selective demolition (building 49); removal and disposal of asbestos containing materials; removal and disposal of lead containing materials; removal and disposal of PCB and mercury containing materials)
Division 03-Concrete (concrete forming; concrete forming (joint trench); concrete reinforcement (building 49); cast-in-place concrete(building 49); cast-in-place concrete(joint trench); cast-in-place concrete(sitework); concrete finishing(sitework); precast concrete vaults(joint trench); precast concrete utility structures(sitework); grouting(sitework))
Division 05- Metals (structural reassembly and repair(cranes); anchor rods; structural steel(building 49); structural steel framing(sitework); structural aluminum gangway and footbridge; cold-formed metal framing(building 49); site metal fabrications; exterior metal handrails and guardrails)
Division 06- Wood, Plastics, and Composites (rough carpentry (building 49); exterior landscape carpentry; exterior finish carpentry (building 49)
Division 07- Thermal and Moisture Protection (preparation for re-roofing; thermal insulation(building 49); metal wall and roof panels; modified bituminous membrane roofing; sheet metal flashing and trim; joint sealers; craneway expansion control)
Division 08- Openings (steel window and door repair; hollow metal doors and frames; access doors and panels; overhead coiling doors; door hardware; basis of design door hardware; louvers)
Division 09- Finishes (gypsum board assemblies; tiling; fluid-applied flooring; exterior painting; interior painting; high performance coatings; anti-graffiti and protective coatings; specialty paving coatings and markers)
Division 10- Specialties (interior signage(building 49); outdoor signage; plastic toilet compartments; toilet, bath, and laundry accessories; fire protection specialties; bird control devices(building 49); interior chain link fences and gates(building 49))
Division 11- Equipment (play structures (bid alternate))
Division 12- Furnishings (site furnishings; cribbing walls and modules)
Division 21- Fire Suppression (general requirements; basic materials and methods; instrumentation; support and anchors; noise, vibration and seismic control, fire protection pipe and pipe fittings; fire protection/automatic sprinkler system)
Division 22- Plumbing (general requirements; basic materials and methods; valves; support and anchors; noise, vibration, and seismic control; tests and balancing; insulation; plumbing pipe and pipe fittings; plumbing systems)
Division 23- Mechanical (general requirements; basic materials and methods; motor and motor controllers; support and anchors; noise, vibration, and seismic control; tests and balancing; ductwork; fans)
Division 26- Electrical (general requirements; common work results for electrical; low-voltage electrical power conductors and cables; grounding and bonding for electrical systems; raceways and boxes for electrical systems; underground ducts and raceways for electrical systems; commissioning of electrical systems; low-voltage electrical transmission; low-voltage distribution equipment; lighting; LED interior lighting)
Division 28- Fire Alarm (fire detection and alarm system)
Division 31- Earthwork (earthwork; backfill (coastal); site clearing; excavation, backfilling and compacting for utilities; excavation and backfill(joint trench); dewatering; lightweight cellular concrete fill; trenching and backfilling; erosion & sedimentation controls; geotextile fabric; geotextile slope protection(coastal); stone(coastal); excavation support and protection; drilled concrete piers(building 49); concrete-filled steel piles(building 49))
Division 32- Exterior Improvements (landscape maintenance; coarse sand and gac-amended sand(coastal); asphalt paving; pavement base course; previous concrete; unit paving; crushed stone surfacing; signing, pavement markings and curb painting; tactile warning paver; synthetic grass surfacing; synthetic resilient surfacing(bid alternate); accessibility mat; chain link fencing and gates; welded wire fences and gates(bid alternate); plating irrigation; soil preparation and soil mixes; landscape finish grading; structural soil; planting; planting accessories)
Division 33- Utilities (water utilities; sanitary sewerage utilities; storm drainage utilities; bioretention; underground duct systems (joint trench); grounding(joint trench))
Division 35- Waterway and Marine Construction (vessel management plan; security buoys; precast concrete tidal pools)

*No contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a bid proposal for a public works project (submitted on or after March 1, 2015) unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 [with limited exceptions from this requirement for bid purposes only under Labor Code section 1771.1(a)] *No contractor or subcontractor may be awarded a contract for public work on a public works project (awarded on or after April 1, 2015) unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5. *This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations.
We are signatory to both the Carpenters Collective Bargaining Agreement and the Laborers Collective Bargaining Agreement. Certification of insurance for General Liability and Workers’ Compensation are required. A Waiver of Subrogation will also be required with all Subcontract Agreements. Subcontractors’ faithful performance and payment bonds in the amount of the subcontract price may be required. Reasonable market rate bond premium will be reimbursed by Thompson Builders Corporation.
TBC is willing to discuss breaking down bid items into economically feasible units for minority participation. Our estimating department is available for assistance with bonding, lines of credit, insurance, equipment, supplies and/or materials. The Small Business Administration (www.sba.gov ), the California Dept. of General Services (www.dgs.ca.gov) and U.S. Dept. of Transportation Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (www.osdbu.dot.gov ) may also be able to offer financial assistance and/or information regarding insurance and bonding.
