ANNOUNCEMENT TO PREQUALIFIED BIDDERS

UC Irvine invites sealed bids for a lump sum contract for the University of California, Irvine Medical Center (UCIMC) B1A, 1st Floor, ED Renovations – Increment 2 project at UC Irvine Medical Center in Orange, CA.

Description of Work:This project will build out the enclosed abandoned north ambulance canopy to provide the ED Department with a new staff lounge, restrooms and showers, storage, (7) exam bays, (1) airborne infection isolation exam room and a patient toilet. Work includes interior demolition, structural framing, MEP, fire suppression, finishes and equipment installation.
Project completion time: 280 calendar days

Estimated Cost:$1,700,000

License Requirement:Current and active “B” General Contractor CA contractor’s license.

Bid Submittal Requirements:Sealed Bids due 2:00 pm, Monday, April 23, 2018at: UCIMC Planning Administration, Building 27, Room 136, UCI Medical Center, 101 The City Drive South, Orange, CA 92868. Bids will be opened at: 2:05 pm, Monday, April 23, 2018, Building 27, Room 134, UCI Medical Center. Contract will be awarded to lowest responsive bidder.

Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference:Friday, April 6, 2018, Pre-Bid Conference and Site Visit promptly at 9:00 am at UCIMC Building 27, Conf. Room 116, 101 The City Dr. South, Orange, CA 92868. ONLY prequalified bidders attending can submit Bids.

Required Bid Security:10% bid security. Surety issuing bid bond shall be an admitted surety insurer (as defined in the CA Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.120)at bid deadline.
Additional Requirements: Successful Contractor and subs must follow nondiscrimination requirements in Bid Docs and pay prevailing wages at location of Work.

No contractor or subcontractor, regardless of tier, may be listed on a Bid for, or engage in the performance of, any portion of this project, unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 and 1771.1.
This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations.

The successful Bidder shall pay all persons providing construction services and/or any labor on site, including any University location, no less than the UC Fair Wage (defined as $13 per hour as of 10/1/15, $14 per hour as of 10/1/16, and $15 per hour as of 10/1/17) and shall comply with all applicable federal, state and local working condition requirements.
