REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FOR:
 
Facility Master Planning Services in support of UC Irvine Health
 
Under the guidelines of CA Public Contract Code 10510.4 – 10510.9, UC Irvine Health is seeking the best firm to provide facility master planning services in support of the UC Irvine Health in Orange, CA. 
 
The University of California, Irvine Medical Center is the only academic medical center serving Orange County. It was established in 1976 and is located on 52 acres of land in Orange, 12 miles from the UCI campus.  As one of five University of California medical centers throughout the state, UCI Medical Center is recognized not only for specialized, high quality patient care, but also for the expertise of its physicians and researchers. UC Irvine Medical Center’s 459-bed facility is Orange County’s only designated comprehensive emergency service and level I trauma center.
 
In 2003, a Long Range Development Plan (LRDP) was established which set the framework for UCI Medical Center growth over a 20 year planning horizon.  The update of the LRDP will be informed by work and analysis completed in this master planning study. 
 
In April 2011, the Medical Center completed its first integrated strategic plan, Advancing the Future of Healthcare – A Strategic Plan for UC Irvine Medical Center and the School of Medicine. The plan will provide a roadmap over the next five years (FY 2011 to FY 2015), setting the course for a new level of excellence at UC Irvine Health.
 
The selected consultant would provide facility master planning services including, but not limited to, the following:
§  Task 1:  Establish Facility Master Plan Study Goals and Objectives
§  Task 2:  Review market demand analysis/demographic and volume projections and augment as needed
§  Task 3:  Identify and quantify current and projected space requirements
§  Task 4:  Site Analysis Documentation
§  Task 5:  Facility Assessment and Documentation
§  Task 6:  Site Master Plan
§  Task 7:  Implementation Plan
§  Task 8:  Time Line Schedule
§  Task 9:  Projected Cost for Identified Projects
§  Task 10:  Identify and document best practices for space allocation and management.
 
Services will be authorized on an “as-needed” basis and are contingent upon project approvals, funding and the quality of services delivered by the design professional. 
 
Estimated Contract Duration:1 year or greater
Estimated Contract Value:  $750,000 or greater
