Subject to conditions prescribed by the University of California, Irvine Medical Center, sealed bids for a Lump-Sum Contract are invited for B63, 5th Fl, IT Consolidation, Project No.  994673.

 

ESTIMATED CONSTRUCTION COST:              $900,000

 

PROJECT DURATION:                                     100 calendar days

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Renovate ~11,500 SF of empty and occupied space for UCI Health IT depart-ment on the 5th Fl at 200 Manchester, Orange, CA 92868.  The renovation will consolidate 3 existing suites into 1 large continuous space to create multiple shared/private worksta-tions, offices, training room and revamp the existing con-ference rooms. This project will include, but not limited to, minor demolition, wall construction, MEP improvements and finishes upgrade.

 

PROCEDURES:  Bid documents are available beginning on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. upon request to Kim Kerwin @ khau@hs.uci.edu.

BIDDER QUALIFICATIONS:  The successful Contractor will be required to have the following California contractor’s license (s): active at the time of submission of the Bid:

B - General Building Contractor

Bidders will be required to submit a completed Statement of Qualifications for themselves and their MEP subcontractors.  Bidders that do not submit a completed Statement of Bidder’s Qualifications or do not meet the University’s requirements for relevant project experience, financial ability to complete the project, safety record and professional conduct will not be eligible for award.

MANDATORY PRE-BID CONFERENCE:  The Pre-Bid Conference (Electronic copy ONLY) and Job Walk will be conducted on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at 10:00 am in the lobby of Building 63 at 200 Manchester,  Orange, CA 92868.  Contractors arriving after 10:00 am will not be eligible to participate in the bid process as a General Contractor.  Only bidders who participate in the job walk in its entirety will be allowed to bid on the Project as General Contractors.

 

BID SUBMITTAL REQUIREMENTS:  Sealed bids will be received only at: UCI Medical Center, Planning Administration, Building 27, Room 136, 101 The City Drive South, Orange, CA 92868, on or before 2:00 pm on January 5, 2023. 

 

Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within the limits imposed by law or University policy.  Each Bidder may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy.  The successful Bidder and its subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the Bidding Documents and to pay prevailing wage at the location of the work.

 

The work described in the contract is a public work subject to section 1771 of the California Labor Code.

 

No contractor or subcontractor, regardless of tier, may be listed on a Bid for, or engage in the performance of, any portion of this project, unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 and 1771.1.

 

This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations.

 

The successful Bidder shall pay all persons providing construction services and/or any labor on site, including any University location, no less than the UC Fair Wage (defined as $15 per hour as of 10/1/17) and shall comply with all applicable federal, state and local working condition requirements.
